EVPA Workshop on VP Strategies for Foundations
14-15 October
The EVPA Knowledge Centre is organising a workshop for EVPA members and foundations interested in VP in Turin, hosted by Fondazione CRT. The workshop will include hands-on explanations provided by practitioners from foundations around Europe. The objective is to provide foundations with a range of methodologies that they can use to implement venture philanthropy in a way that fits their particular conditions and needs. Immediately prior to the workshop, Luciano Balbo, President and Founder of Oltre Venture Capital, and Professor Angelo Miglietta, Secretary General of Fondazione CRT, will make a presentation about VP in Italian.

A New Era for Venture Philanthropy: Where grant-making and social investing converge
The EVPA Annual Conference will take place on 16-17 November 2010 at the Congress Centre in Luxembourg. Event sponsor this year is a consortium of local organisations consisting of Banque de Luxembourg, European Investment Bank, Ernst & Young, Association Luxembourgeoise des Fonds d’Investissement, Loyens & Loeff.

EVPA Site visits allow both experienced practitioners, as well as those intending to increase their Venture Philanthropy activity, to learn from others in the network. Impetus Trust in London will host a day in their offices on 21 April 2010 for EVPA members. Impetus Trust pioneered venture philanthropy in the UK and provides a highly effective package to ambitious, innovative charities and social enterprises to help transform their performance - see www.impetus.org.uk. The visit will include an examination of the Impetus model/strategy and a presentation on some of their initiatives, as well as a look into a day in the life of an investment executive. Attendance will be limited to allow for active discussions.

EVPA workshop on different financing models
1 and 2 June 2010
This workshop will take place in Brussels during the European foundation week on 1 and 2 June.
Leading experts within the field of venture philanthropy will present their approach to different financing tools such as grants, loans and equity and the motivations behind the choice of the relevant tool. The workshop is intended to be an interactive learning environment which facilitates the possibility to share best practice amongst participants.
